Sunday Stills: The Letter “C” (Russian Style)
Russian is a slavic language that uses the Cyrillic alphabet. There are few letters like our latin characters, but some sound differently.
In Russia’s alphabet, there is a letter “C” which sounds like an “S” in english. Because I am studying abroad in Saint Petersburg which in fact starts of with a “C”, Санкт Петербург, pronounced something like “Sankt Pyetyerboorg,” I am staying true to the Russian Language.
I think with this photo I cover pretty much the whole alphabet, but If you can find the “C” (located almos in the center under the “H” and to the right of the “P”) it has a picture of a dog. The word for dog in Russian is собака (pronounced Sobaka).
The next image illustrates the word “Скульптура” ( Skulptura) which means sculpture.
Please enjoy!
